For those of you who haven't heard, there are plans to bring Randy back to the community in October.
Randy had been at home for five months, from September 2007 to February 2008, but we were not able to meet his needs with home care. Randy was admitted to Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul in February, and remains in care there.
His address is:Randy Cress
Bethesda Hospital- 4W
559 Capitol Blvd.
St. Paul, MN 55103
The exciting news is that a REM group home for four individuals with brain injury is being built in Fairmont. I had a discussion with REM shortly after Randy's accident, and now this is becoming a reality. The home will be located on W. Margaret St. in Fairmont. It is a beautiful neighborhood, and there are Texas Longhorn steers in the pasture adjoining the back yard. I told Randy about them and he said, "I would like to see them."
Our family is looking forward to the day when he can come back to the community, and visits with family and friends will become much easier. The target date for the move is October 2008.
Thank you for checking this website, and for your continued prayers and words of encouragement.
God Bless You All!Carol and Family
It has been said that having a traumatic brain injury is like having a room full of filing cabinets and in one moment of time having the contents of the cabinets all dumped into the middle of the room and then saying to the person 'now put them all back in order.'
